Yves Saint Laurent’s art collection including masterpieces by Picasso and Matisse went for a record of 261 Million dollars. The collection was of an extraordinary quality and quantity and buyers came from all over the world. Much of the profits and proceeds will go to AIDS/HIV research. Yves Saint Laurent was a legendary designer and icon whose work will be seen for generations. This auction celebrated and honored the compulsive energy of St. Laurent.

Christoper Wool at Auction

Contemporary art has been a exploding arena for a number of years. Christoper Wool recently had one of his famous stencil paintings go to auction at Christie’s auction house. Final sale price $322,399. He’s normally represented by the world famous Gagosian Gallery. So much for a recession.

Its a great piece and really represents a part of our brand in its “go fuck yourself” spirit.

Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse SoHo StoreFront

Marc Jacobs’s newest LV collaboration honors the late Stephen Sprouse.

Stephen was a designer/ artist who was considered a pioneer in the fashion arts scene in the 80’s. blending an “uptown sophistication in clothing with a downtown punk and pop sensibility.”

The day glow neon colors in graffiti fonts and the signature Sprouse Rose with be featured on LV bags in many sizes and shapes.

Deitch Projects with be holding a show in Collaboration with LV, celebrating the Stephen Sprouse collection.
