Mori Ex Cacao

January 19th, 2009

Skulls have been done by a variety of people in a variety of ways. And it really comes down to not what you do but how you do it. To me these are just pure “deliciousness” (copyright R.P.)

Weekend Dining

December 22nd, 2008

WEEKEND DINING
Went to the new Nobu on La Cienega this weekend for dinner. This is the newest branch of the restaurant chain opened by chef Nobu Matsuhisa. The experience was pretty much the same that I was used to having in the London and Milan locations. Although the food was nice I was hoping for something a little different and less predictable.

I still prefer going to the original Matsuhisa on La Cienega. That place seems to always have such an amazing vibe and mystique about it. The place is nice and dark and you never know who you will see in there.

My most memorable experience there was when the guy next to me gave me a compliment a on my JBK jacket. It’s always nice to get a compliment on our work but this one was special because it came from Karl Lagerfeld. He was nice enough to give us encouragement as new designers and even left us with a little memento to hang in the office.

Sure he spelled Noah’s name wrong but he’s Lagerfeld I wasn’t about to tell him he was wrong.

My impulse purchase of the day:The Gokukawa Leather Keyboard

December 18th, 2008

Over the years we have definitely gained a reputation for pushing the envelope when it comes to producing leather pieces. So it’s pretty rare that I see something in leather that really blows me away. I must say that this leather keyboard by Gokukawa of Japan is absolutely amazing. The letters are embossed into every key which really gives it that detailed touch. I recently reupholstered my desktop at the office in leather and when I saw this I knew it would go perfectly. Now I just need to find a wireless mouse that matches.
